If you're reading this, you found your way to a website that gave me more gray hair than I'd like to admit. But the firm behind it? Years in the making, and I'm so excited to share it with you.

I'm Cody Nagle. I started my practice with the goal of being the "lawyer down the street," not the one in the glass tower downtown. No shade to those lawyers, they do great work, and they are an important asset for the people they serve. They just don't serve everyone.

What makes me unique is my commitment to my local community and my honest desire to get legal help into the hands of everyone who needs it. I'm the lawyer whose kids go to school near yours, who you might actually run into buying groceries or perusing the community yard sale (Hello, deals!), and who you trust to have your back because I know what its like to be where you are.

The first pillar in my legal practice centers on overcoming barriers and looking forward. Most people only call a lawyer when something's already gone wrong. I want to help you prevent that stress in the first place. I can help you plan for your family's future through the use of a simple and affordable estate plan or medical directive documents, or give your new business the start it deserves by drafting your formation documents or reviewing your lease and contracts with vendors. If you have a dream, I want to help you reach it. Because if it helps my neighbors, it helps me too.

I also specialize in overcoming the consequences of criminal records and substance use disorder. I can help clear records of conviction, an arrest, gaps in employment due to illness or incarceration, the dreaded background check, or regaining your right to carry a firearm. I want to help you be the best possible version of yourself. And I have the tools and lived experience to make it happen. Almost no other attorneys in the state of Washington have the personal experiences I have that make me uniquely qualified to advise folks on how to move on after incarceration. Another pillar of Cody Nagle Law, PLLC is affordability. Most clients gets a flat fee, agreed on before we start. There is no hourly clock ticking away on every email or phone call you make. If my flat fee price is above your budget, we can discuss payment options such as sliding scale, when available. My wish is that hiring a lawyer would never be a question of going without or dipping into debt that will haunt you for years. For those who need just a few hours of my time, to look over a document, draft a contract, or talk you through a difficult decision, the flat fee will reflect how many hours I think we will need. We can also tailor the fee to your needs and ability to pay. Maybe you don't have the money for a full estate plan. We will find a way to prioritize the parts that you need most right now and you can always come back for the rest when it's the right time. Sitting across from me never feels stiff. I'd rather you leave understanding your situation better than when you walked in than leave with a head full of jargon and a steep bill. I'm a mom, a Navy spouse, a Pacific Northwesterner to-the-bone, who moved back to Tacoma on purpose. All of that comes with me into every client interaction I have.

Right now I'm focused on four things: estate planning, business and entity advising, criminal post-conviction relief, and Veteran's claims. I also offer free name and gender marker changes for my friends in the trans community that need but cannot afford legal help.
